The handle is an improvement on the single finger hole found on most chambersticks since this one allowed the use of two fingers for added comfort. Ships left British west coast ports like Liverpool and Bristol laden with goods for the Colonies. One popular export was a lovely chamberstick from Bristol that found its way into many public houses and homes. Nicer than most, this Bristol Chamberstick was a favorite in the "better" establishments. Cast in solid brass it measures 3 " high and 4-7/8" in diameter with a 7/8" socket. The brass is lacquered to keep it shining, the base is felted to protect fine finishes. Weight: 11 ounces
